"World city day" is the first international day promoted by the Chinese government in the United Nations. It is inherited from the spiritual heritage of "Better City, better life" of Shanghai World Expo. Since the first "world city day" was held on October 31, 2014, various theme activities have been carried out at home and abroad. According to the specific requirements of Shanghai municipal Party committee and municipal government on "relying on world city day to carry out International Urban Construction Expo", one of the theme activities of "world city day" in 2018, "Shanghai International Urban and Construction Expo 2018" (hereinafter referred to as "city Expo") is planned to be held in the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) from November 22 to November 24, 2018.
The annual "city fair" has been highly concerned and valued by all sectors of society over the years, and has become one of the fixed brand activities of "world city day". "City Expo" will be fully connected with Shanghai's goal of becoming an outstanding global city. Centering on the brand of "Shanghai service, Shanghai manufacturing, Shanghai shopping and Shanghai culture", it will continue to display the management level and achievements of international and domestic planning and construction, and provide reference for Shanghai to improve its economic development momentum, cultural quality and urban governance level, so as to promote industries and enterprises Exchange and cooperation to provide high-end display platform.
