The 2018 World robot conference is scheduled to be held in Beijing Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center from August 15 to 19. The theme of the conference is "jointly create new wisdom and energy, share new era of opening up", which is composed of three sections: "forum", "Expo" and "competition".

The world robot conference has been successfully held for three times and has developed into an important platform for communication between China and the world, integration of science and technology and industry. In 2018, the world robot conference will carry on the past, talk about technology development, show innovation achievements, explore cooperation channels, and look forward to the future vision, so as to contribute wisdom and solutions to the development of the global robot industry.

With an open, inclusive, shared and mutually beneficial international vision, the conference integrates academic exchange, industrial application, industrial development, skill competition and popular science education, focusing on the latest achievements in robot development. From the new perspective of "global robot community of destiny", this paper discusses the new ecology of innovation and development of world robot industry. 16 international organizations including ASME, Iet, RAR and IEEE Ras will participate in the conference as supporting organizations.

On the basis of previous sessions, the conference forum will focus on sharing ideas, exploring cutting-edge trends and leading academic direction, integrate new elements and explore new highlights, and build a platform for the exchange of wisdom and ideas for the elites in the global robotics academic, industrial, research, application and other fields. The forum consists of three-day main forum and more than 20 special forums. More than 300 top experts and business leaders from the United States, Russia, Germany, Japan, Canada, South Korea, Israel and other countries will discuss and exchange on basic technology and innovation, cutting-edge trends and exploration, emerging applications and practices, young talents and growth, market direction and investment. In addition, in order to fully exchange the latest academic theoretical results and application practice of robot research, this forum has added a new paper collection, which has received the official technical support of IEEE RAS, and the selected papers will be included in EI retrieval.

As the forum with the highest degree of public participation and industry attention, the Expo will provide a stage for the advanced products and research results in the upstream and downstream of the global robot industry chain this year. On the basis of industrial robot exhibition area and service robot exhibition area, robot application exhibition area and ground unmanned system exhibition area are newly set up in the Expo. The four exhibition areas will gather more than 150 well-known enterprises and scientific research institutions at home and abroad, such as Xinsong, Harbin University of technology robot group, abb, FANUC, Anchuan, nazhibueryue, Siemens, colmorgan, FESTO, SMC, Guangshu, Huashu, CITIC Heavy Industry, etc., and comprehensively display the latest achievements of artificial intelligence system, industrial robot, service robot, special robot, etc. Among them, the robot application exhibition area will not only show the underwater robot, military robot and space robot, but also present the "robot production line" as a whole, bringing a new exhibition experience for the field audience.

During the conference, the world robot competition, which integrates professionalism, skill and innovation, will also be staged at the same time. The competition consists of five categories: BCI brain control, CO fusion robot human, industrial robot human, youth robot design and unmanned boat open competition, which will attract more than 12000 teams and 50000 competitors from more than 10 countries and regions to compete on the same stage. "Integration of machine human" and "industrial machine human" are the new sections of this competition. The co integration robot human race covers foot mobile robot group and double arm cooperative robot group. The industrial robot human race includes intelligent assembly, intelligent logistics and other events. The competition event setting is more close to the current robot field research and development and the demand of solving the practical problems in the application scenario, which will greatly stimulate the competitors' enthusiasm for participation in the competition and the spirit of research and innovation, provide practical experimental reference for the research and development and application of the robot industry, and provide the growth soil for the cultivation of future industrial talents.
