The government's active development policy on natural gas resources has also created an opportunity for Chinese natural gas (LNG) equipment manufacturers to export to southeast Africa. Maputo, Xinhua news agency, June 2 (reporter Nie motherland) the launching ceremony of the first phase of the floating LNG project in the Kolar gas field, block 4, Mozambique, luwuma basin, East Africa was held in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, on June 1. The ceremony was attended by President of Mozambique New Zealand, Chinese ambassador to Mozambique Su Jian and chairman of CNPC Wang Yilin.
New Zealand congratulated the start of the Kolar gas field project. Speaking at the ceremony, he said that the launch of the floating LNG project in the Kolar gas field marks that Mozambique has officially entered the path of natural gas commercialization. In the past three years, Mozambique's economic situation has been grim, and the launch of natural gas projects is conducive to promoting economic growth.
Wang Yilin said that the luwuma basin is the fifth largest proven gas field in the world. The development of the gas field is of great significance to the economic prosperity, social development and people's well-being of Mozambique. He said that PetroChina will work with its partners to build excellent projects, and actively participate in the construction of Mozambique's oil and gas industry system, so that local people can benefit from the development of natural resources.
The luwuma basin in block 4 of Mozambique is located in the Northeast sea area of Mozambique. Since 2010, huge natural gas fields have been discovered in block 4. The operating Party of the project is Eni group of Italy, which indirectly holds 50 shares of HTML DOM voku percent through Eni East Africa Company. CNPC entered the 4-block project in 2013 and currently holds 20 shares of voku, the second largest shareholder of the project.
