Hong Kong is a duty-free port for wine, coupled with world-class logistics services connecting the mainland China and Asian markets, providing an excellent trading platform for wine suppliers. In terms of fine wine trade, the development of mature market is stagnant, while the demand of Asian market is surging, bringing huge growth potential. Asian consumers who have a deeper understanding of wine tend to choose higher value products, while the entry-level wine customer base continues to expand.

Hong Kong plays the role of wine trade hub, as can be seen from the relevant trade data. In 2015, the total import volume and total import value of wine in Hongkong increased by 20.9% and 27.6% respectively compared with the previous year, while the total export volume and total export value rose by 23% and 95.8% respectively compared with the same period.
