Market information:
As we all know, infrastructure is a magnet for attracting foreign investment, so North Africa is increasing investment in infrastructure. Projects in the region are mainly constructed by contractors from the United States, France, China, Saudi Arabia, Croatia, Italy and Greece. By the end of 2019, 170000 houses will be completed in Morocco; the growth rate of foreign direct investment is 13%, and the total value of construction projects will increase by 9 billion US dollars! From 2015 to 2020, Casablanca strategic development plan will launch a series of comprehensive projects with a total value of US $3.1 billion, covering transportation infrastructure, leisure and entertainment facilities, etc. Morocco is short of energy, about 95% of which needs to be imported, while the domestic energy demand has grown at a rate of 7% every year in the past 10 years. Currently, oil accounts for about 62% of its total energy consumption. Morocco forecasts that the country's total electricity demand will grow from 24 million kwh in 2008 to 95 million kwh in 2030. In order to get rid of its dependence on oil imports, Morocco has formulated a renewable energy development strategy, especially utilizing the abundant solar and wind energy resources in the region, building solar and wind power stations through various ways such as national funds, attracting foreign investment and encouraging private investment. By 2020, it is planned to achieve about two fifths of the power consumption from renewable energy (20% solar and 20% wind). Morocco attaches great importance to the development of its emerging industries, especially the automobile industry. In 2005, Morocco formulated a new industrial strategy, the national plan for rapid economic growth. There are two main parts. One is to revitalize industry and improve its competitiveness. The second is to promote the development of seven industries with comparative advantages in Morocco, including offshore industry, automobile, electronics, seafood processing, aviation industry, textile, leather and agricultural food.
