In recent years, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council have attached great importance to the development of low altitude economy and continuously made strategic deployments at the macro and top-level design levels. In 2021, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the "Outline of the National Comprehensive Three dimensional Transportation Network Plan", which for the first time included low altitude economy in the development plan. At the Central Economic Work Conference held at the end of 2023, it was explicitly proposed to develop several strategic emerging industries such as the low altitude economy.

In 2024, during the National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the concept of "low altitude economy" was first included in the Government Work Report, proposing to actively create new growth engines such as low altitude economy. Various provinces and cities have also successively released high-quality development plans and guidance opinions for the low altitude economy.

According to data from the CCID Research Institute of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the scale of China's low altitude economy reached 506 billion yuan in 2023, with a year-on-year growth rate of 33.8%; It is expected that by 2026, the scale of China's low altitude economy is expected to exceed one trillion yuan. Among them, the scale of China's eVTOL industry will reach 980 million yuan in 2023, an increase of 77.3% compared to 30+forums. The scale of China's civilian drone industry will reach 117.43 billion yuan in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 32%. In 2023, China's general aviation completed a total of 1.371 million flight hours in 10+interactive experience flights, including 55.1% for passenger flights and 34.7% for human flights compared to the same period last year.

About the exhibition

The first International Low altitude Economy Expo 2025, approved by the Shanghai Municipal Government, is an international expo jointly organized by the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Donghao Lansheng (Group) Co., Ltd., and Shanghai International Exhibition (Group) Co., Ltd., focusing on the strategic emerging industry of low altitude economy. With the theme of "Embarking on Low altitude Economy, Empowering Thousands of Industries", the focus is on showcasing the industrial chains of low altitude infrastructure, manufacturing, and supporting services, as well as the application chains of low altitude transportation, urban-rural management, commercial integration, and personal consumption. The Low altitude Expo focuses on the development needs and application scenarios of low altitude enterprises through themed exhibitions, professional forums, docking activities, and demonstration experiences, creating a platform for exhibition and exchange for exhibitors and audiences in low altitude economic management, research, production, service, and application.
