According to the 14th Five Year Plan for National Seawater Utilization jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the State Oceanic Administration, the total scale of seawater desalination in China will reach over 2.8 million tons per day by 2025. It is expected that in the middle and later stages of the 14th Five Year Plan, domestic seawater desalination will maintain a medium to high growth trend. By 2027, the scale of seawater desalination production will reach 3.15 million tons/day, and the industry development will reach a new level. Among them, the overall industrial chain maintains a moderate and stable growth, and seawater desalination projects are expected to achieve high-speed and rapid growth. The utilization of water treatment equipment such as membrane equipment and reverse osmosis equipment has completed preliminary large-scale demonstrations, and the seawater desalination industry will usher in a major development opportunity during the 14th Five Year Plan period.
