With the promotion of policies and the increasing demand for environmental protection, the scale of the waste incineration power generation industry continues to expand. As of 2023, the total installed capacity of waste incineration power generation in China has reached 150 million kilowatts, with an annual growth rate of about 8%. Meanwhile, with the continuous advancement of technology and equipment upgrades, the efficiency of waste incineration power generation is also constantly improving, further driving the growth of the industry.

During the 14th Five Year Plan period, influenced by the favorable policies of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", the waste incineration power generation industry has received much attention in the field of environmental protection. As one of the mainstream methods of household waste treatment, its contribution to carbon reduction should not be underestimated while achieving harmless, reduced, and resourceful waste treatment. According to the "14th Five Year Plan for the Development of Urban Household Waste Classification and Treatment Facilities" released by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, by the end of 2025, the harmless treatment capacity of new urban household waste in China will reach about 60%, and the incineration treatment capacity of household waste will be increased to 800000 tons per day. It is required to continue to increase the construction of harmless treatment capacity for household waste, improve operational management level, expand service scope, accelerate the marketization process in the field of waste collection and transportation, improve the level of resource utilization, and ultimately achieve the reduction, resource utilization, and harmless treatment of waste.
