Silk Road International Expo and China East West cooperation, investment and Trade Fair (hereinafter referred to as silk road Expo) was formerly known as China East West cooperation, investment and Trade Fair (hereinafter referred to as West China Fair) founded in 1997. In March 2016, with the approval of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council and the approval of the leading group of the national clean-up and standardization celebration seminar forum, it was officially renamed Silk Road International Expo. It is held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province in the middle of May every year and is co sponsored by the national development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, the Federation of overseas Chinese, the all China Federation of industry and commerce, the China Council for the promotion of international trade, the State Administration of market supervision and the people's Government of Shaanxi Province.

More than 180 foreign dignitaries and former dignitaries from more than 120 countries and regions around the world, more than 8000 foreign businessmen, more than 40 heads of central state organs, national ministries and commissions, central enterprises, 31 provincial, regional and municipal governments and Xinjiang production and Construction Corps participated in the exhibition. More than 30000 kinds of characteristic commodities were exhibited and sold, with more than 600000 visitors. The total contract investment of foreign investment projects signed is 34.2 billion US dollars, the total contract investment of domestic joint projects is 4923.7 billion yuan, and the contract amount of high-tech achievements trading is 20.2 billion yuan.
